August meditation three class mini-series: Cultivating engaged-equanimity & positive non-attachment

Start date: August 15th/16th

Equanimity & detachment are fundamental mindfulness skills that we learn in meditation. But what will happen to our passion, joy and human happiness if we really get good at non-attachment & even-mindedness?

This series of three classes will show you:

  • How you can be passionately involved in your life at the same time as cultivating equanimity & peace
  • How you can practice warm, loving, healthy non-attachment
  • How you can transform your current attachments into care, positivity & inner strength

There will be two chances each week to attend this class series:

Tuesday, 15,22,29th August – 7.30-8.30pm – Meditation class at Oneheart (on Tambeling road, East coast)

Wednesday, 16,23,30th August, 7.30-8.30pm – Meditation class at Basic Essence (Near Botanic Gardens MRT)

August 15/16: Class 1 – Meditating with engaged equanimity

August 29/30: Class 3 – Transforming attachment into care

About the teacher, Toby Ouvry

Toby is a mindfulness teacher and trainer, and the author of the book ‘Engaged Mindfulness – What mindfulness is and how we can apply it to our daily lives’.

CLASS DETAILS: 

July 4th&5th – Class 4: What lies beyond stillness? – What happens after you have learned to still the mind in meditation? This class looks at how we can use meditation & stilling the mind as an initial gateway to connect to the higher states of creative and ‘enlightened’ consciousness that lie deeper within us, beyond the everyday mind.

July 11th&12th – Class 5: Working with ‘spiritual alchemy’ in meditation –  Spiritual energy is all around us & within us, but often it seems like an abstraction, relative to the concrete nature of our everyday life. This class looks at a simple technique for connecting to spiritual energy and bringing it down into our physical body and everyday life in order to affect healing & transformation in a tangible way.

July 18th&19th – Class 6: That which solves all your problems and none – Working with enlightened imperfection – Are you on a quest for enlightened perfection? This class explores what enlightened perfection is, & what it isn’t. We will be meditating how we can start integrate our own ‘enlightened perfection’ in a complementary way with our own imperfection & the imperfection of the world.

What you will receive as well as attending the classes:

  • MP3 recordings of the classes will be sent to you via email
  • Detailed backup notes and articles relating to the contents of each class

Building inner resilience with mindful love – A three week live & online course

In the run up to the Christmas season, why not bring more love into your life to enjoy and share with others through mindfulness & meditation? This course aims to give you a wealth of practical mindfulness techniques to:

  • Create to a robust, naturally loving relationship to yourself and your world
  • Leverage more fully upon, appreciate and derive strength from the love that is already around you and within you
  • Bring your experience of giving and receiving love into a healthy, mutually supportive dynamic
  • Find sources of love that are unconditional and inexhaustible (even when you are in challenging circumstances)
  •  Bring personal and universal levels of love together within your mind, body and heart to effect healing & pleasure as well as enhance your motivation & energy

This is a three week live & online course that consists of three modules:
Module 1: Love as the Journey Towards Wholeness; Three Awareness Perspectives
Module 2: Meditating on enlightened love the easy way
Module 3: Giving and receiving: The energetic dynamics of love

Each module consists of an article (linked to above), a one hour live meditation & talk, plus a short, 10minute MP3 meditation practice that you can use to connect to the essential practice of that module anytime.

Dear Integral Meditators,

September and October seem to have brought the energy of change with them for me, how about you? There have been lots of things to keep me busy and engaged, but I’ve particularly appreciated my daily mindfulness time as a way of not just coping with the change but thriving with and enjoying it!

With the October events below, you’ll see the beginning of the month has an Engaged Mindfulness retreat on the 8th. There is a ‘Meditations for Quietening the Mind’ workshop on the 22nd, with the ongoing Wednesday evening classes in the mid-week.
